Meet Kerri
I am the owner of Made in the Shade South Central Alberta. I have worked in the decorating/blind and drapery industry since 2003. My original background was in Education, which I still use on a daily basis with my clients. I have always had a passion for design and decorating so now I get to combine my passions and have the best of both worlds. Even though sales are a part of what I do, I always say I don’t see myself as a sales person but as an educator. “I like to educate clients and give them product knowledge so they can make an informed decision. I love making things beautiful. Over the years I have done many windows, rooms and homes and I take great pride in the transformations. It is not about doing what I think will look good, it is more about presenting the possibilities, being creative and helping the client make their house a home. Some clients love to be included in the process and others want the reveal at the end. I am lucky to have been able to do both. It is most important to me that, at the end of the day, the client loves the results because I go home and they live there. The home truly should be a reflection of the people who live there and bring life to it.
What I love most about being an owner of Made in the Shade is the variety of hats I gets to wear. “Mostly I love working with my clients and developing relationships through our interaction. I enjoy measuring, educating on product, helping make selections, quoting, invoicing, and installing. I am a detail-oriented person so it makes sense to me to see a job through from the beginning to the end. There is nothing more satisfying than a happy client and I have been very blessed through the years with clients that welcome me into their homes and allow me to be part of their decorating/blind and drapery experience. I also enjoy running the back end of the business to complete the full scope. I get to work with some amazing girls in each of the territories. They are a huge support and I’m thankful to have them on this journey.

Kerri is fabulous to deal with. Her service is second to none. Our blinds were measured and installed in a very timely manner…. they even came and installed when I was away so I was lucky to come home to new beautiful window coverings.
